Earthworks QTC-1: Time Coherent Omni MicrophonesThe QTC-1 Matched Pair gives you two perfectly matched Earthworks omni microphones. This microphone's claim to fame is its incredibly clean impulse response, meaning it accurately reacts to incoming waveforms thanks to the minimal mass of its diaphragm (any time the diaphragm takes some time to get moving it distorts and 'rounds off' the incoming waves.) Applications for the mic include ambient (room) miking, plus close-in pickup of instrument sources and location recording. It is also a dead-accurate mic to use for Foley and other sound effect uses, thanks to its uncanny ability to perfectly reproduce what it receives. Key specifications include amazing frequency response of 4Hz to 40kHz, ±1dB; maximum acoustic input level of 142dB SPL; and 22dB SPL equivalent noise, 'A' weighted.
